Work out the return on one employee platform

Seven savings, each with the research or customer figure behind it. Cash and returned time are counted apart, and you choose how much of the time to credit — a quarter by default, not all of it.

Everyone who would use it. A company subscription starts at 200.

Drives only the onboarding saving. Use your own figure.

Every saving splits by this: someone without a desk does not lose a desk worker's search time.

Salary, benefits and overhead. We publish no benchmark; your finance team has it.

Time back is cash only once it becomes output or a hire you skip. Set what your finance team accepts — even zero.

Which of these do you count? 7 of 7

Cash out of a budget line

Time given back

Untick any you do not believe. The case should survive without the ones you would argue about.

3,000 employees — 1,200 at a desk, 1,800 without one — at $35 an hour

Cash saved a year

$188K

Licenses you stop paying for, and IT time you stop spending. This leaves a budget line.

Time returned a year

700K hrs

Worth $24.5M at your hourly figure — but only if it becomes output you sell or a hire you do not make.

Counting 25% of that time, the year returns $6.3M against a $1.4M subscription — 4.5× what it costs.

Cash alone covers 13% of the subscription. For the rest to pay for itself you would have to believe 5.0% of the time this page says you get back.

That is $2,104 per employee a year, against $468 of subscription.

What this arithmetic ignores
  • Cash and time are counted separately and never added into one number. Only the first two savings leave a budget line; the rest give hours back.
  • An hour returned is credited at the share you set, not at face value. At 100% this page would be claiming every recovered minute becomes money, which no finance team accepts.
  • The hourly figure is applied to the IT time too, so that saving is understated wherever IT costs more than an average employee.
  • It counts no implementation cost, no change management and no time spent learning the platform.
  • The subscription figure is list price for the whole employee bundle, before the volume, term and non-profit discounts a proposal applies.
  • This is arithmetic, not a quote.
