What our work looks like for customers
Three short stories so every colleague can explain what Northstar does and why it matters.
These are fictional scenarios, not real customers or testimonials. Replace them with approved stories.
How customers use what we make
Each story names the need, our work and the outcome.
A regional transit depot
Buses were waiting days for a part nobody could identify.
- Need: get a ramp mechanism back in service.
- Our work: Workshop diagnosed the fault and Supply sourced the part.
- Outcome: the vehicle returned to service within the week.
A community kitchen network
Ovens and mixers broke down at different sites with no shared record of fixes.
- Need: stop repeating the same repair.
- Our work: Learning ran a maintenance-planning session and set up a shared log.
- Outcome: staff at each site could see what had been fixed before.
A small manufacturer's maintenance team
A press kept stopping and every repair started from scratch.
- Need: fewer unplanned stops.
- Our work: Workshop repaired it and Learning built a checklist with the team.
- Outcome: planned checks replaced most emergency call-outs.
Using these stories
When a customer or friend asks what you do, name the need, what Northstar did and what changed. For example: 'We keep equipment running. We repair it, find the parts and teach teams to plan maintenance.'
Before publishing real stories, confirm the customer's name, the outcome and written permission to share it. Until then, keep them labelled as examples.
