Know who coordinates each chapter

Ownership means keeping the conversation, evidence route, and next review visible.

This fictional Northstar Services matrix uses role names rather than individual names. The accountable role coordinates the chapter's readiness activity; supporting roles contribute records or operational context. Ownership does not mean one person performs every task.

Use the matrix to route a question, identify a handoff, or prepare a review. The labels below are illustrative chapter groupings, not a standards crosswalk.

Ownership questions

Keep handoffs explicit when work crosses teams.

What if two teams contribute to one chapter?

Name one coordinating role in the accountable column and list the contributing roles beside it. Agree which evidence each role maintains and how questions are handed back.

What belongs in a handoff?

Include the open question, the evidence location already checked, the next action, the receiving role, and when the team will review progress. Avoid forwarding an unexplained document list.

When should this example matrix be reviewed?

Review it when a role or process changes, when a tracer exposes an unclear handoff, and during the team's locally agreed readiness review cadence.
