Review the presentation, not an illustrative photo
These sample review principles help teams describe what they see. The supplied workplace image is illustrative, not an approved store planogram or set reference.
Four useful review lenses
Compare the finished area with the approved set and record observable details.
Alignment
Check whether the display follows the named fixture boundaries and the approved reference.
- Name the fixture in your note.
- Describe the specific area that differs.
Visibility
Check whether the featured items and any relevant labels can be seen from the intended viewing area.
- Identify what is obscured.
- Include a context view when the surrounding area matters.
Grouping
Check whether related items appear together as shown in the approved set.
- Describe the grouping you observed.
- Avoid guessing why an item is absent.
Presentation
Check whether the area is orderly enough for a clear customer-facing presentation.
- Note a visible obstruction or misplaced item.
- Separate completed work from an unresolved question.
When local conditions differ
The fixture differs from the reference. Should I adapt the set?
Record the fixture and the difference you observed, then ask the merchandising coordinator which approved guidance applies. Do not present an unconfirmed adaptation as the approved layout.
What should I document if part of the display is unavailable?
Name the campaign and fixture, state what is unavailable, and capture a clear view of the affected area. Follow the locally approved process for deciding how to proceed.
What makes a review note actionable?
Describe the location, the visible difference, and the specific clarification needed. For example: “Seasonal Edit, front table: the left-side grouping differs from v2.1; please confirm whether the alternate fixture guidance applies.”
