A unit-level handoff preparation example
Keep shared operational follow-up separate from patient-specific handoff.
Worked example: Before a shift change, the outgoing team notices that the shared unit reference index lists two versions of a document topic. The team records the topic, the location of the approved document collection, and the unit information owner role as the follow-up owner. The incoming team can check the approved source and route a version discrepancy through the local document-control process.
- Record the unit-wide topic and the next owner role.
- Point to the approved reference location rather than copying an unverified document.
- Keep patient-specific details in the organization's approved handoff process.
When this online hub is unavailable
Use the separately maintained local downtime resource through your unit’s established downtime arrangements. Check with the designated unit information owner in advance that you can reach the current resource by its approved route. This online hub does not provide an offline copy or verify access to that separate resource.
