Safety Week: small actions, safer work

A week of sample activities for every Northstar employee, across office and frontline locations.

This fictional campaign example runs Monday through Friday. Start with a daily theme, take part in the configured activity, and follow your location’s approved safety procedures whenever work requires them.

Monday: Notice the Hazard Look for a condition that could affect safe work. Tuesday: Safe Moves Consider movement and how work areas are used. Wednesday: Safe Equipment Focus on authorized, trained equipment use. Thursday: Speak Up for Safety Learn how to raise a concern through the local route. Friday & Recognition Wrap up the week and recognize a helpful contribution.

How to take part

For challenges: Open the Contests app and select the Safety Week activity for the day. Challenge instructions, eligibility, and submission requirements must be configured there before launch.

To recognize a colleague: Use the Recognitions app and follow the published program criteria. Recognition is for specific, helpful actions; it is not a substitute for reporting a hazard or incident through the established local route.

Safety comes first: These themes are campaign prompts, not instructions or policy. Follow the approved procedure for your role and location. If a concern needs immediate attention, use your established local safety escalation process.

Sample content: Northstar and this campaign are fictional. Confirm campaign dates, activities, locations, program criteria, content owner, and help route before publication. Assign a campaign owner to review the pages before each campaign and update them when activity details or local procedures change.
