Timesheets That Build Themselves
Timesheets build themselves from clock-in data, overtime rules apply on their own, and approvers work one filtered queue — employees review instead of re-entering, and finance gets a clean file.
See Timesheets In Action
See how timesheets auto-generate from attendance records, flow through two-level approval, and export payroll-ready files for the pay period.
What Timesheets Helps You Do
Auto-Generate Timesheets
One timesheet per pay period — weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly — builds automatically from attendance punches. Employees review and submit — no manual entry of hours that the system already captured.
Calculate Overtime
Weekly overtime and double-time apply automatically from your business-wide thresholds, plus any daily overtime rules you set for a location.
Route For Approval
Timesheets go to the employee's manager or location approver first, then — if you turn it on — to a regional approver for final sign-off, who can approve many at once.
Track Exceptions
Missing punches and overtime show on every timesheet's review page. Turn on accuracy scoring and each submitted sheet is scored for missing punches, edits, schedule drift, and suspicious punches — sheets that fall short are flagged for review. Approve, edit, or send back with a reason.
Export To Payroll
Approved timesheets export as a CSV file, on demand or on a scheduled SFTP transfer. Payroll Connect, a separate app, sends approved hours straight to ADP, Workday, Paychex or BambooHR.
Audit Every Change
Every entry edit is recorded with who made it, the old and new value, and when; edits made on the web require a reason. Each timesheet shows its full edit history when payroll questions or compliance reviews come up.
From Punches To Payroll, Automated End-To-End
Auto-Generated, Not Hand-Entered
Timesheets generates each pay period's sheet automatically from attendance punches — no hand-keyed hours. Employees review, adjust if needed, and submit. Less duplicate entry; fewer transcription errors.
- Built from attendance — every punch, break, and shift, already verified.
- Employee review — see daily totals, breaks, and overtime before submitting.
- Adjustments routed — request a missing-punch fix; the manager approves.
- Same record everywhere — payroll, shifts, and leave all read from one source.
Two-Level Approval That Scales
A simple manager approval works for small teams. Larger organizations can add a second, regional level — the location approver signs off first, then a regional approver gives final approval and can approve a whole batch at once. Both work out of the box.
- Choose the first approver — direct manager, location approver, or anyone with approval rights.
- Regional bulk approve — the regional approver signs off many timesheets in one click.
- Exception flags — missing punches and overtime on every sheet; with accuracy scoring on, sheets that score below your threshold are flagged.
- Send back with a note — reject a submitted timesheet, or return an approved one to the employee for correction, whether or not they asked for one.
Timesheets In Practice
A practical scope check: what the app covers, which controls matter, and the workflows teams usually run first.
Core workflow
Auto-generate timesheets from attendance records each pay period with real-time sync of clock-in, clock-out, and break data.
Controls that matter
Approval Workflow includes Employee self-submission with in-app confirmation and Manager approval with approve, reject, and edit actions.
Scope and specs
Useful specs: Supported pay period types: Weekly, Biweekly, Semi-monthly, Monthly; Default pay period: Biweekly (admin-configurable); Overtime: 40 hours per 7-day week and double time at 60 by default, both set per business, plus daily rules per location.
Employee timesheet review
Employees view their auto-generated timesheet for the current pay period, verify hours from attendance records, flag missing punches, and submit for manager approval.
Manager timesheet approval
Managers review submitted timesheets on Team Timesheets, check for discrepancies or missing entries, and approve or reject with comments for correction.
Regional approval workflow
When regional approval is enabled, timesheets first go to the location manager and then route to the regional manager for final sign-off before payroll processing.
Connected To The Rest Of MangoApps
Timesheets is the bridge between time captured and payroll paid. Every connection works native.
→ Time & Attendance
Every punch from mobile, kiosk, or web rolls into that pay period's timesheet automatically. Break tracking, overtime, and exceptions all read from the same source.
→ Shifts & Scheduling
Scheduled vs. actual comparison highlights coverage gaps and over-runs. Manager-approved adjustments flow into the timesheet without re-entry.
→ Leave Management
Approved time off appears on the timesheet, deducts from accrual balances, and skips overtime calculation — no reconciliation between leave and time systems.
→ Worklog
Billable client hours live in Worklog, kept apart from the clock hours on the timesheet — an invoice never changes anyone's pay.
→ Payroll Connect
Payroll Connect, a separate app, sends approved hours straight to ADP, Workday, Paychex, BambooHR or a custom API over each provider's own connection.
REPLACES POINT TOOLS
One timesheet instead of three tools that don't agree on hours
Most companies stitch a time clock, a billable-hours tracker, and a payroll exporter together — and the three disagree by the end of every pay period. Timesheets builds itself from the punches, schedule, leave, and project work already in the platform.
Harvest
Time tracking for billable services teams
- Time tracking that also handles operational hours, overtime, and payroll — not just project billing
- One per-employee Frontline Operations suite license covers time, schedule, attendance, and project billing
- Replaces a vendor with a feature inside the employee platform you already run
Toggl Track Business
Time tracking for project teams
- Managers approve their own team's timesheets, with an optional regional step — not a parallel Toggl admin hierarchy
- Payroll hours and exception edits live on one timesheet record, with billable client hours in Worklog on the same platform
- Frontline and field employees included by default — no Toggl seat economy for shift work
Replicon TimeBill
Enterprise time and project billing
- Per-employee suite license covers it inside the same Frontline Operations bundle as scheduling, time & attendance, and Worklog
- One identity perimeter — no separate Replicon SSO or audit review
- Built-for-the-frontline timesheet review on the branded app employees already use for chat and pay
ClickTime
Workforce time tracking and project costing
- Billable client hours and invoicing live in Worklog on the same platform — not a separate vendor
- Approved timesheets export as CSV, or go straight to ADP, Workday, Paychex and more with Payroll Connect (a separate app)
- One sign-on for the entire workforce — not a ClickTime perimeter for managers and finance only
BigTime
Professional-services time and billing
- PSA workflow lives alongside HR, comms, and operations — not as a separate vendor that doesn't know about leave or shifts
- Same per-employee bundle that covers timesheets also covers performance, training, and recognition
- Payroll hours in Timesheets and billable client hours in Worklog, on the same platform
PLATFORM ADVANTAGE
Timesheets inherits everything else MangoApps already does
A standalone timesheet tool has to build, buy, or integrate each of these. Timesheets gets them for free because the platform already runs them.
Identity & SSO
SAML/OIDC SSO, MFA, and SCIM provisioning already cover every employee whose hours hit a timesheet. No separate timesheet identity to maintain.
Manager and regional approval
Managers approve their team's timesheets, with an optional regional approval step — no parallel approval tool to keep in sync.
Punch & schedule source
Timesheets build automatically from Time & Attendance punches and Shifts & Scheduling assignments — not a manual data entry every Friday.
Edit history
Every entry edit is recorded with who made it, the old and new value, and when, on the same timesheet record payroll exports and wage-and-hour reviews read.
Mobile app & approvals
Employees review and managers approve from the branded app they already use for chat and pay — with email and in-app reminders before the due date, and a push notification once a timesheet is overdue or sent back.
Workflow & automation
Built-in reminders nudge employees before and after the due date, remind approvers, and escalate overdue approvals to everyone else who can approve the employee (admins only when nobody else can).
INDUSTRY FIT
Built for industries where every hour lands on payroll and an audit
Timesheets matters where the same hour lands on payroll and on a wage-and-hour audit — both reading the same record.
Professional Services
Payroll hours come from attendance in Timesheets; billable client hours and invoices live in Worklog on the same platform.
Healthcare
Clinical hours roll up with credential gating, ratio rules, and the edit history of each timesheet entry.
Manufacturing
Line hours, shift differentials, and overtime with labor-cost reporting from the same timesheet record.
Field Service
Technician hours from the field roll up to payroll with frontline-ready capture and approval.
Retail
Associate hours with overtime, breaks, and labor-cost reporting tied to the same timesheet record.
Construction
Crew hours captured on the phone in the field, with overtime split out and a manager approval before the hours reach payroll.
WHY MANGOAPPS WINS
One platform beats a stack of point solutions on every axis
The argument finance, security, ops, and HR all share — and the one a timesheet point tool structurally cannot answer.
Cheaper than the stack
One per-employee suite license replaces Harvest, Toggl, or Replicon plus the WFM, time-clock, and scheduling tools you stack around them.
More secure
One identity perimeter and one set of roles and permissions across every timesheet entry and approval. Nothing for security to re-certify.
Easier to deploy
Runs on the MangoApps platform you already use. License Timesheets, turn it on, set pay-period and approval rules, and the first auto-built timesheets land the same pay cycle.
Easier to use
Employees review and submit timesheets from the same mobile app they use for chat and schedule. No separate submit-by-Friday app to install.
Easier to manage
Payroll and HR admins configure pay rules, approval steps, and exports from one console — using live HRIS data as the workforce of record.
Easier to extend
Approved hours hand off as CSV on demand or on a scheduled SFTP transfer, or to Payroll Connect and Payroll Prep on the same platform.
AI is actually better
The Timesheets Agent surfaces exceptions, overtime risk, and missing-punch patterns against live timesheet data — governed by the same permission model that protects every other workforce record.

Customer Success
How Customers Use It
Frequently Asked Questions
No. The timesheet auto-builds from clock-in records captured by Time & Attendance. Employees review daily totals, breaks, and overtime, request adjustments if a punch is missing, and submit. No re-keying.
The system applies your business-wide weekly overtime and double-time thresholds — FLSA forty-hour by default — plus any daily overtime and double-time rules set for a location, such as California's. Union or contract rules beyond those thresholds are not applied automatically.
Two levels. You choose who approves first — the direct manager, the location approver, or anyone with approval rights — and can turn on a second, regional level for final sign-off. Regional approvers can approve many timesheets at once.
Timesheets exports approved hours as a CSV file, on demand or on a scheduled SFTP transfer. To send approved hours straight to ADP, Workday, Paychex or BambooHR, add Payroll Connect, a separate app.
Every entry edit is recorded with who made it, the old and new value, and when, and edits made on the web require a reason. Each timesheet shows its full edit history, and a send-back carries the approver's reason — useful for payroll reconciliation and labor-law audits.
Approved time off from Leave Management appears on the timesheet automatically, deducts from accrual balances, and is excluded from overtime calculation. No second entry, no manual reconciliation.
The agent answers timesheet-and-hours questions in the Ask AI sidebar — "where's my timesheet?", "what's my overtime this period?", "which approvals are pending?" — and can submit or recall your timesheet or, for approvers, approve or reject a submitted one or return an approved one for correction, each after you confirm. See the agent page for the full capability list.
