Frequently asked questions

Do we need a hazard assessment per task or per work area?

OSHA 1910.132(d) requires the assessment cover the workplace. Per-task assessments are recommended for high-risk work but not required.

How do we audit if employees are wearing required PPE incorrectly?

Observe at distance first (so they don't adjust on seeing you), then approach for closer inspection. Document specific findings — "5 of 12 hard hats worn backwards" is more useful than "PPE noncompliance observed".
