Frequently asked questions

Does this replace a full PPAP submission?

No — PPAP is a 17-element automotive submission. This covers the FAI dimensional and functional verification typically used as PPAP element 9.

How often is FAI required?

AS9102 requires FAI on first production part, after any design or process change, or after a 2-year production gap. Auto industry (AIAG) PPAP triggers are similar.
