Steps

  • Unlock and Secure Premises

Arrive at least 15 minutes before opening. Unlock the main entrance and disarm the security system. Check for signs of unauthorized entry.

  • Perform Safety Walk-Through

Walk the entire premises checking for hazards: wet floors, obstructions, broken equipment, or anything unusual.

  • Power On Equipment

Turn on all required equipment: POS systems, lighting, HVAC, displays, and any specialized equipment for your location.

  • Verify Cash/Register

Count the opening cash drawer. Verify it matches the expected amount. Report any discrepancies.

  • Check Supplies and Inventory

Verify adequate stock of essential supplies. Note any items that need restocking and communicate to management.

  • Open for Business

Unlock customer entrances. Activate open signage. Ensure all staff are at their stations and ready.
