Steps

  • Status (S)

Brief overview of how the shift went. Productivity, sales, patient census, headcount, any major events.

  • Background (B)

Context the incoming team needs — equipment downtime today, ongoing investigations, special VIPs / patients / customers, supply issues.

  • Assessment (A)

What needs attention now or soon. Open tickets, in-progress work orders, escalations awaiting resolution.

  • Recommendation (R)

What the outgoing lead recommends the incoming team prioritize. Specific people to support, tasks to finish, follow-ups due.

  • Confirmation

Incoming lead summarizes what they heard. Both sign the shift log. Outgoing lead remains 5 minutes for any clarifications.

Frequently asked questions

Should the outgoing or incoming lead drive the conversation?
