Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between this and the annual NFPA 25 inspection?

This is the monthly visual inspection (NFPA 10 §7.2 + NFPA 25 §5.2). Annual maintenance and 5/12-year hydrostatic tests must be performed by a certified inspector.

Who can perform this monthly inspection?

NFPA 10 allows the owner or designee to perform monthly visual inspection — no certification required. Annual maintenance must be performed by a person trained per NFPA 10.
