Frequently asked questions

Does the periodic audit need to be performed by someone other than the authorized employee?

Yes — OSHA 1910.147(c)(6) requires the inspector be someone other than the employee being audited. The inspector must also be "authorized" for that procedure.

How often do we need to do this?

OSHA 1910.147(c)(6)(i) requires periodic inspection at least annually for each procedure. High-risk procedures benefit from more frequent audits.
