NFPA 101 + OSHA EAP-aligned fire evacuation — pull alarm → evacuate via posted route → assemble for headcount → wait for re-entry authorization.

Every employee gets a seat — priced per employee in Frontline Operations, quoted with this template ready.

Rolled out to every employee at AutoZone (125,000), PetSmart (50,000+), A.S. Watson and Raley's (20,000) — and at larger retailers we are not permitted to name.

Steps

  • Activate fire alarm

Pull the nearest pull station. If alarm is already sounding, proceed to step 2. Do not attempt to fight a fire larger than a wastebasket without training and approved equipment.

  • Evacuate via posted route

Use the nearest safe exit. Don’t use elevators. Close doors behind you to slow fire spread. Help mobility-impaired colleagues to area of refuge if cannot use stairs.

  • Floor wardens sweep their zones

Trained wardens check restrooms, conference rooms, and quiet areas to ensure full evacuation. Wardens are the LAST out of their zone.

  • Assemble at designated point

Move 100+ ft from the building or across the street. Do not block fire department access. Stay together by team / department.

  • Headcount accountability

Floor wardens take headcount and report missing persons to the incident commander or building manager. Do not re-enter to look — that’s the fire department’s job.

  • Re-entry only on authorization

Wait for the fire department’s all-clear before anyone re-enters. Building manager confirms via official communication.
