What's inside this template

General Standards

  • Employees are expected to dress in a manner appropriate to their role and the day’s activities. The general standard is business-casual: clean, professional, and presentable. Clothing must not interfere with safety, hygiene, or the company’s reputation.

Customer-Facing Roles

  • Employees in customer-facing roles (retail, restaurant, sales, account management) follow role-specific guidelines and may be required to wear company-provided uniforms or branded apparel. Uniforms are provided at no cost and replaced as needed.

PPE & Safety

  • Roles requiring PPE (steel-toe boots, hi-vis, hard hats, lab coats, hearing protection) must follow the PPE Policy. PPE supersedes any conflicting dress code element.

Religious & Cultural Expression

  • Religious garments, head coverings, and grooming consistent with sincerely held beliefs are accommodated. Employees should notify HR of accommodation needs; the company will work to find solutions that respect religious practice and operational requirements.

Gender Expression

  • Employees may dress in a manner consistent with their gender identity. The dress code applies equally regardless of sex, gender, or gender expression.

Hair & Grooming

  • Hair (including natural hairstyles and braids) and grooming are not restricted beyond safety needs (e.g., tied back near machinery or open flame). The CROWN Act and state equivalents protect natural hairstyles from discrimination.

Frequently asked questions

Can I wear a religious head covering?

Yes — religious head coverings (hijab, kippah, turban, etc.) are accommodated. Notify HR if adjustments to PPE or safety equipment are needed to integrate with your covering.
